The Arkansas Department of Education will sponsor 24 workshops regarding assistive technology during the 2000-2001 school year. Assistive technology devices and services are defined in IDEA '97, the March '99 Federal Regulations, and state regulations and guidelines. Assistive technology needs must be considered for each student eligible for IDEA services. These workshops are designed to address consideration and assessment of assistive technology, communication issues and integration of technology tools into the curriculum.
The topics and logistical information for each workshop is attached below. The registration forms for each workshop are also attached.
There are no fees for any of the workshops listed, with the exception for the 4/17/01 workshop in Springdale. A $5.00 fee will be charged to participants at the Northwest Arkansas Education Service Co-op. Participants will need to pay the Co-op on-site. Lunch will be on your own at each site.
