The Public School Finance Section has published a simple funding model on the ADE Website at http://arkedu.k12.ar.us/school_finance.htm. It shows the calculations for State Equalization Aid, Debt Service Funding Supplement, Additional Base Funding, and Incentive Funding. This is a mathematical model with each calculation clearly defined. The district may do the actual calculations based on the formulas presented. This funding model utilizes the August 10, 2000 state-wide funding data. Local school districts will need the following data points to calculate these four categories of aid:
Assessment, prior year three quarter average ADMs, miscellaneous funds, eligible debt for calendar year 2001, 100% collections, general facilities funding, student growth funding, and revenue loss funding.
This is a simplified model and is presented merely for informational purposes. The official funding data is generated by the Department of Education and published three times per year on the "Print Out".
