The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) is required to report annually on the number of language minority and Limited English Proficient (LEP) students enrolled in Arkansas public schools to the United States Department of Education. These data are used to develop language appropriate services for LEP students and to assist ADE in planning for the needs of this student population. DATA ON THE NUMBER OF LEP STUDENTS ENROLLED IN YOUR DISTRICT ARE USED TO DETERMINE STATE FUNDING AVAILABLE TO YOU FOR SERVICING LEP STUDENTS.
There are paper attachments to this memo (instructions, survey, and reporting forms). These forms will be delivered in the next bulk mail. If your district does not currently enroll LEP students, please indicate on the face of the survey form that the survey is not applicable to you this school year, And RETURN IT TO THE ADDRESS BELOW.
