Make your calendars. This spring the ADE, funded by the National Endowment for the Arts will sponsor the first professional development teleconference for art education in Arkansas. The date for the videoconference will be May 4, 2001, from 9:30 -2:00.
Dr. Donna Kay Beattie, Art Professor at Brigham Young University, author of Assessment in Art Education, and Dr. Terry Barnett, Art Professor, Ohio State University, author of Talking about Student Art, Criticizing Art, and Criticizing Photographs, will be the videoconference presenters. They will present through interactive distance learning instructional topics on practical art criticism in the classroom, art teaching and curriculum work in the United States and other countries, art assessment, and current topics in art education. The videoconference will be available to art teachers, regular classrooms K-12 teachers and administrators. Please encourage your teachers to return the attached reservation form by April 2, 2001, and attend this outstanding interactive presentation.
