The Arkansas Department of Education is pleased to announce a Request for Proposals (RFP) for planning and implementation grants supporting the development of an application for a charter school and implementation of a charter school approved by the State Board of Education. Maximum planning grant awards will be $10,000 per site. Upon receiving approval from the Arkansas State Board of Education for a charter school the recipient of the grant will then become eligible to begin phase two of this two-phase grant for implementation funds of up to $150,000. These sub-grants administered by the Arkansas Department of Education are part a grant from the U.S. Department of Education Public Charter School Program.
Proposals are to be submitted to the Department of Education on or before April 30, 2001.
