Professional specialists will teach the American Ground Water Trust's Institute program. The content of each state program will vary depending on the state's principle ground water issues and on the opportunities available for field visits, for example, geological exposures, well fields, water treatment facilities, drilling sites, remediation projects or manufacturing plants producing ground water related equipment. Each Ground Water Institute will be taught by several different experts. The content detail of individual state institutes and the names of the volunteer teaching faculty for each program will be made available to all sponsors and teachers and will also be posted on the Trust's web site two months in advance of the scheduled date. If you have questions, call the Trust at (603) 228-5444 and ask for the Institute Coordinator.
For all Institutes, the starting time for the program on Day One will be 9:00 am. The reception on Day One will begin at 6:30 pm, followed by dinner and an evening program. The starting time on Day Two will be 8:00am and the finishing time will be 4:30pm. The core content outlined below will not necessarily be covered in the order listed. The topics below are included to show the comprehensive nature of this intense two-day training program. While the Institute focus is on content, there will be opportunity throughout the program to share ideas about implementation of the subject matter into existing state or school system curriculum requirements.
The Trust will provide all teachers with a selection of its publications and a selection of educational information from agencies and organizations. Institute presenters have been asked to prepare material containing technical information that is reader-friendly and user-friendly for teachers. Some presenters may also include samples of products or technical reports about equipment and services that fulfill an educational purpose. While much of the information may include references to specific company products and services, the Trust does not specifically endorse or support the products or services of any particular company. All resource information provided at the Institute is for the purpose of increasing the availability of ground water education material for teachers.
