The Title I and Title VI Units, School Improvement and Professional Development Section, Department of Education, announced area meetings in Director's Memo SI-01-043. An additional area meeting has been scheduled to disseminate information and application materials regarding the TITLE I, TITLE VI AND CLASS SIZE REDUCTION programs for 2001-2002. The additional meeting will be held May 10, 2001, in Harrison at the North Arkansas College, Room M102.
Registration will be from 8:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. and the meeting will conclude by 12:00 noon. Each district should bring a copy of the Title VI Handbook to the meeting.
A time will be set aside to serve as the Annual Public Meetings for Title VI. The State Application and Financial Report will be reviewed and made available to the public. The staff will take comments in reference to the implementation of the Title VI program.
It is IMPORTANT that the person responsible for completing the application and annual report attend an area meeting. Technical assistance will be provided in the afternoon, by appointment only.
