The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) recently received information regarding federal funding for Early Learning Opportunities Act Discretionary Grants. This announcement was published in the Federal Register on April 30, 2001, by the Administration on Children, Youth and Families. Up to 25 projects will be funded in fiscal year 2001, subject to the availability of funds and the results of the review process.
The Awards will be for 17-month project and budget periods. Individual awards will be between $250,000 and $1,000,000 depending on the size of the populations to be served, as well as geographic area to be served, and the reasonableness of the budget in relationship to the services to be provided. While this will vary depending on the scope of the applications submitted, awards are expected to average $700,000.
