Dr. Don Boyd and Ms. Lisa Johnson will present a series of workshops on Understanding the Fragile Brain. In this presentation, fragile brain research and applications for the classroom will be discussed. Some common physiological disorders that affect learning will be identified, e.g., brain insults, undernutrition, learning disorders, chronic stress, sleep deprivation, etc. Strategies for teaching students with these conditions will be presented by Ms. Johnson.
These regional workshops will run from September through December of 2001 at the following locations (all workshops will run from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM):

These workshops will be five hours (for CPEs) in length and will be brown bag affairs, i.e., you will need to bring a lunch or purchase one nearby during the lunch break. To save time we are asking that participants eat on site.
