The SIS (State Information System) Cycle training is scheduled differently than in past years. Cycle 1 training will be held during the month of July, and those dates and times are attached to this memo. The training schedule for SIS Cycles 2-7 will be released as a separate Director’s Memo in the month of June. Training for those sessions will be held during August.
The training sessions on SIS CYCLE 1 are planned at all of the educational cooperative sites beginning July 2 through July 20, 2001. The schedule (attached below) lists the training date(s) for each Coop and the schools districts to attend each session.
It is essential that the State Reporting coordinator, Financial System Administrator and/or Bookkeeper, and Student System Administrator from your district attend one of the training sessions. In some school districts one staff member may cover more than one of these areas of responsibility, and in that case, you may bring someone else who would benefit from the training. Due to limited space, please send no more than three persons to the training.
Also attached to this memo is a Statewide Information System (SIS) Coordinators Application Form. This form is to be completed and returned only if the SIS Coordinator or the Cycle 1 Coordinator for your district has changed. This training will greatly benefit your school district, making the electronic reporting easier to understand and giving you the proper process and procedures to submit error free reports.
