The Arkansas Department of Education is pleased to announce a grant competition for proposals funded under the Technology Literacy Challenge Fund. Proposals under this fund should address the need for infusion of technology into teaching and learning. Approximately $4 million in grants will be awarded.
A portion of the grants from the Technology Literacy Challenge Fund will be awarded for the 'Turning Around Low Performing Schools' Initiative. This state initiative is for proposals from school districts classified by the Arkansas Department of Education as being in academic distress. Grants will also be awarded based on proposals from local districts (LEAs) or consortia.
Proposals for competitive grants are due on Wednesday, August 1, 2001.
Guidelines for preparing grant applications as well as selection criteria are contained in the attached Request for Proposals (RFP).
