As a result of a successful training program for Arkansas School Bus Mechanics, a cooperative agreement among the mechanics has been established. The mechanics agree to assist school buses that experience mechanical problems on activity trips that are within driving distance of the mechanics' home school.
The superintendents and mechanics who participate in the program are to be commended for the cooperative effort to assist other school districts during mechanical breakdowns on activity trips. This program may have a fee attached for parts and/or labor.
The attached list of mechanics may be posted in each activity bus. The names and phone numbers are for emergency school use only. Please in-service the activity drivers on the proper use of the program. Please do not release these names to school employees who are going on vacation or personal trips. This is not the purpose of this program.
