Act 1744 of 2001 Section (a) states, "The driver of a school bus shall not operate the school bus until every passenger is seated." This Act requires the superintendent of each public school in this state to be responsible for ensuring that no school bus is scheduled to transport more students than can be reasonably seated in the school bus.
Any superintendent who knowingly violates this act shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction, shall be fined not less than fifty dollars nor more than one hundred dollars.
