NEW ADDRESS FOR HOME SCHOOL OFFICE
REQUIRED PROCESSING OF NOTICE OF INTENT TO HOME SCHOOL FORMS

Numerous school districts continue to forward copies of the Notice of Intent to Home School forms to the previous Home School Office address.

Director's Memo Number IT-02-001 was disseminated on July 17, 2001, providing the new address for the Home School Office. (See end of this memo for new address.)

SCHOOL DISTRICTS PLEASE FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES LISTED BELOW:

SUBMIT TO THE ARKANSAS DEPARMENT OF EDUCATION (ADE) HOME SCHOOL OFFICE: A legible copy of each Notice of intent to Home School form (front and back) filed with your district. Please continue to submit copies of the Intents during the school year.

SUBMIT TO COOPERATIVES: A LEGIBLE copy of the front of each Notice of Intent to Home School form that has a student listed in grades 5, 7, or 10. (Do not send copies unless a student is listed in grades 5, 7, or 10 on the Intent.) This is to facilitate the required home school testing process for the 2001-2002 school year. The co-ops will need legible information in order to inform home school parents of the testing dates, times and locations. This information is also necessary for co-ops to secure an adequate number of test administrators.

Parents/guardians listed on the Notice of Intent to Home School forms, WHICH THE DISTRICTS SUBMIT TO THE CO-OPS BY SEPTEMBER 4, 2001, will receive notification regarding the required home school testing for the 2001-2002 school year.

Due to the short time line between the beginning of the school year and the required home school testing, it is important that legible copies of Intents be submitted to the co-ops and ADE as soon as possible. After the testing window is complete, districts no longer need to submit copies to their cooperative. Do not send copies of the Waiver form. If districts have further questions concerning home school testing, please contact the director of your co-op. Pulaski County school districts do not have a cooperative and will conduct their own testing.

Notice of Intent to Home School forms submitted by districts to the Arkansas Department of Education should be sent to the new Home School Office address:

Dottie Hughes, Program Administrator
Home School Office
Arkansas Dept. of Education Technology Center
8221 Ranch Blvd.
Little Rock, AR 72223
