Knowledge is Power Program (KIPP) - Mr. Michael Feinberg, CEO KIPP Foundation

The KIPP Academies in Houston, Texas and in the South Bronx, New York have been featured on the CBS television show 60 Minutes. The program focuses on five pillars of success: High Expectations, Choice and Commitment, More Time, Power to Lead, and Focus on Results. Mr. Feinberg will provide information on the history of KIPP, program overview, and the Fisher Fellow Leadership Training. The Arkansas Department of Education is assisting the KIPP Foundation in identifying outstanding educators interested in applying for admission into the Fisher Fellow Leadership Program. Selection to this program presents an incredible career opportunity for motivated teachers and/or administrators to replicate an innovative and highly successful education model in the State of Arkansas. Visit the KIPP website at (http://www.kipp.org/).

Teacher Advancement Program (TAP) – Dr. Tom Boysen, Milken Family Foundation

The Teacher Advancement Program (TAP), designed by the Milken Family Foundation, is a multi-tiered teacher-staffing model that will provide quality teachers with new career growth paths, increased salary flexibility and ongoing applied professional development opportunities. The TAP framework for systemic change is built on five key principles: Multiple Career Paths, Market-Driven Compensation, Performance-Based Accountability, Ongoing, Applied Professional Development, and Expanding the Supply of High Quality Educators.
