The testing window for the 2001 SAT-9 norm-referenced exams, September 17-27, includes three Jewish high holy days as follows: Rosh Hashanah, September 18-19, and Yom Kippur, September 27. The Arkansas Department of Education encourages school districts with Jewish students to strongly consider making reasonable accommodations, including avoiding testing on these dates. If this is impractical or impossible, please make every effort to allow for convenient makeup dates within the testing window for affected students.
If there are holy days for other religious groups within this testing window, similar consideration should be given.
