In response to recent events in New York City and Washington, DC, the Department of Education is pleased to share two letters received from First Lady, Laura Bush. These letters, one to children in elementary grades and one to secondary students, may be shared with students in any way deemed appropriate by local administrators and teachers.
These are difficult times for all Arkansans, especially students in our public schools who may not understand all that has happened. Mrs. Bush’s letters seek to assure our children that in difficult times, Americans come together to care for and help each other.
