On behalf of all school districts in Arkansas, the Department of Information Systems (DIS) submitted a proposal requesting E-rate discount funds in support of the delivery of Internet services to schools. One of the new requirements of E-rate funding is confirmation that each participating entity in the proposal meets the provisions of the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA). That provision requires a signed statement from each district on Form 479 CIPA Certification.
Attached is a list of districts that have complied with this request to DIS on or before October 1. Please note there is a penalty imposed on the applicant (state) if this requirement is not met with all districts reporting. This memo is a plea to those districts not having responded with a completed Form 479 Certification – please do so to avoid the State losing a portion of its E-rate funding.
