Beginning with the APSCN Cycle 3 reporting this year, a Certification of Data Accuracy form will need to be signed by the superintendent and submitted to the Arkansas Department of Education. A Certification of Data Accuracy form will be posted to, and can be downloaded from, the APSCN web site for each subsequent cycle and must be included with each cycle submission. This new procedure will assist the Department in verifying the accuracy of the data submitted and keep the superintendents aware of the reports that are being distributed during each cycle.
The APSCN system has made tremendous strides the past few years in improving network, hardware, and software applications. One of the remaining obstacles is to develop a procedure for improving data accuracy. The implementation of the Certificate of Data Accuracy for each reporting cycle should go a long way toward improving the present data collection and reporting process.
