The State Board of Education approved the 2001 revision of the Arkansas Fine Arts Curriculum Framework. This framework includes revised art and music content standards (required under the Standards for Accreditation) as well as dance and theatre content standards (not required under the Standards for Accreditation) which will be revised at a later date.
Please note that the Arkansas criterion-referenced benchmark and end-of-course examinations are based on the Arkansas curriculum frameworks. State law requires that all schools use the Arkansas curriculum frameworks as the basis of instruction.
All the Arkansas curriculum frameworks may be accessed at the following web address: http://arkedu.state.ar.us/curriculum/frameworks.html. Other documents (curriculum benchmarks, sample model curriculum, resource material, etc.) which support the frameworks may be found at that site also.
All the Arkansas curriculum frameworks are available on the Arkansas Department of Educations’s web site as a PDF file. You must have Acrobat Reader on your computer to successfully read the framework documents.
