The Arkansas Humanities Council offers humanities education minigrants for imaginative, content-based K-12 projects in social studies, English language arts, foreign languages, and English as a Second Language.
The grants of up to $2,000 are made possible by a generous grant from the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation.
The six application deadlines for 2002 are March 1, April 1, May 1, July 1, August 1, and November 1.
Education minigrant projects should have the following characteristics: humanities subject-area content; a direct relationship to student learning; a clear instructional focus; a demonstrated relationship to the Arkansas Department of Education Curriculum Frameworks; activities at building level or classroom level; new and unique to the school district.
Anyone interested in receiving application guidelines should contact Robin Giles at the Arkansas Humanities Council 501(221-0091) or rgilesahc@aristotle.net.
