This Director’s Communication is to notify local school districts that in 2001-2002 there will not be a charge to any district’s Title I account for the cost of the Legislative Audit Division performing the audit of Title I programs. As a result of cost savings at the state level, the Arkansas Department of Education will pay the school district audit costs for 2001-2002 from its statewide administrative funds. Please keep a copy of this Director’s Communication in the District's Title I 2001-2002 audit files.
The decision on whether to pay the local school district audit cost from the Arkansas Department of Education’s share of Title I funds will be reviewed each year. Districts will be notified immediately when that determination is made regarding any required actions.
