At its regular meeting on Monday, April 8, 2002 the State Board of Education adopted the proposed Measuring Performance Honors (MPH) model for identification of schools for rewards as defined in the Arkansas Comprehensive Testing, Assessment and Accountability Program (ACTAAP). These rewards are based on student performance on the Fourth Grade Benchmark Exam and to be eligible for a reward this year, the school identified for receiving an award must contain a fourth grade.

There are three attachments: A list of schools identified that will receive a reward; a list of all schools that have a fourth grade with the MPH Index; and a description of the formula for reward distribution. Additional information about the MPH Program can be obtained from the Department of Education Web site under “What’s New:” http://arkedu.state.ar.us.

The Department of Education and the State Board of Education expresses appreciation to the Walton Family Foundation for a generous grant that enabled cash awards to schools identified for rewards for the 2001-2002 school year.
