The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) will be co-sponsoring three workshops this fall that should prove to be very beneficial for speech and language pathologists and other personnel working with the population of students with Asperger Syndrome, autism, developmental disabilities, students who are hearing impaired, etc. As this population of students increases, your speech and language pathologists will need to have the skills required for meeting these students’ educational needs. Your personnel will leave these training workshops with a manual and skills that can be implemented immediately to work with this population.
The State of Arkansas is very fortunate to have this valuable training available, and the ADE, Special Education would like to encourage the district to allow the appropriate personnel to attend.
Information regarding each of the workshops is attached.
