The purpose of this memorandum is to provide information regarding the satellite downlink of a conference sponsored by the National Association of State Directors of Special Education (NASDSE). The teleconference, "No Child Left Behind," will broadcast on September 18, 2002, from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM CDT.
This session will provide ways in which federal legislative programs can and should be integrated at both the state and local level. Specifically, successful ways to integrate special education and Title 1 in light of the reauthorized ESEA (NCLB) and the pending reauthorization of IDEA will be highlighted as well as the partnerships needed, the relationships forged, and the outcomes achieved. Participants will gain an understanding of the mutual benefits of the collaborative activities, the communication required, the joint planning and staff development needed, the reorganization that occurred as well as the state integrated review process used.
Attached to this memorandum is the technical information for downlinking the broadcast, as well as, information about the presenters. There is no fee for accessing this teleconference. Individuals wishing to view this teleconference will need check with the educational cooperative in your area to see if they will downlink this teleconference. Any group that has the capability to downlink, may do so free of charge.
