The Arkansas Department of Education specialists and guests will present a three-hour teleconference for K-8 art, music, social studies, English Language Acquisition, high school biology, health and physical education teachers, and K-12 administrators on December 3, 2002 at 9 a.m. to 12 noon. The program will briefly review the frameworks and standards in these areas plus look at the newly revised Arkansas History Framework (which contains the same five content strands as the Social Studies Framework). The specialists will discuss the newly created grade specific benchmarks and sample activities for grades K-8 in each of these disciplines.
Brenda Turner and Bob Bethurem will discuss art and music issues with participating teachers and administrators. Steven Weber will present the social studies benchmarks, sample lessons and Arkansas History Framework. Andre Guerrero will present the English Language Acquisition Standards. Bill Fulton will introduce the new Biology Outline Goals Benchmarks and the Physical Education and Health Frameworks. These presentations should help local schools in revising and developing their local curriculums. Other guests and teachers will help in this presentation.
