In the Spring 2003, Shelly Wier, Speech-Language Pathology Consultant, Easter Seals Outreach Program, will be offering a workshop entitled “Goals for the Future: Yours, Ours, and Theirs.” This workshop will include lecture and activities that explore 1) classroom/curriculum-oriented assessment tasks that lead to student-specific, curriculum-linked goals and objectives, 2) the workload analysis approach to caseload management, 3) knowledge and skills needed to address literacy, and 4) professional vitality. There is no registration fee for this workshop. However, each participant is asked to bring one assessment tool that is part of a “basic assessment battery,” and one, more narrowly focused, assessment tool that the participant finds particularly useful in his/her setting. Participants are encouraged to invite a general or special education colleague with whom they collaborate or are interested in collaborating.
Five Continuing Professional Education hours (5.0 CPEs) will be available for the Speech-Language Pathologists attending, with certificates of attendance provided to all participants. All sessions will be conducted from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., EXCEPT for the two (2) Springdale sessions, which will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The workshop dates are listed in the Schedule of Training attachment below. To register, individuals must complete the attached registration form and return as indicated. If directions to a particular location are needed, participants should refer to the contact number listed on the schedule of training for the workshop they wish to attend.
