Attached to this memo is a list of financial coding changes that are recommended for FY2003 and REQUIRED for FY2004. The changes to the standard financial coding procedures are necessary to ensure uniform district reporting across the state.
The areas with changes are in Technology, Athletic, and Instructional Supervisor expenditures. Another major change is that all function expenditures, except for the listed exceptions, will require location level coding in FY2004. (Implementation of coding to the location level for salary and benefits was required in FY2000 by Director's Memo FIN-00-033.)
Although changes to the coding are not required for FY2003, all pulled data and reports created from the Statewide Information System (SIS) data for FY2003 will use the attached coding to publish expenditures for all districts as requested.
