The U.S. Department of Education has announced a request for proposals (RFP) for Early Reading First. The Early Reading First Program is part of the President’s “Good Start, Grow Smart” initiative and is designed to transform existing early education programs into centers of excellence that provide high quality, early education to young children, especially those from low-income families. Those interested in more information about the RFP may go directly to the U.S. Department of Education web site at http://www.ed.gov/offices/OESE/earlyreading. The Pre-Application deadline is April 11, 2003.
