The Arkansas Public School Computer Network (APSCN) system is making tremendous strides in collecting data for the state. Beginning in the 2003-2004 school year, school districts will be required to report additional information on entering kindergarten students. This information is necessary to provide and collect well-defined preschool/early childhood data for entering kindergarten students. It will provide the school districts and state with valuable trend data.
Schools will report on page 55 of the 2003 SIS Manual in student data field (ST0105) if the kindergarten student attended a full-time (AT LEAST TWENTY (20) HOURS A WEEK FOR NINE (9) MONTHS) four-year-old preschool program and which program. Program choices will include Arkansas Better Chance (ABC), Early Childhood Special Education, Even Start, Head Start, Public School Preschool, Private Preschool or Other.
