The Office of Education for Homeless Children and Youth is providing a second training opportunity for the designated LEA Homeless Education Liaisons as identified on the Statewide Information System (SIS) – Arkansas Public School Computer Network (APSCN). On May 6, 2003, each of the 310 LEA Homeless Education Liaisons are invited to attend the 2003 Statewide Homeless Education Forum to be held at the Agora Conference Center in Conway from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The invited guest speakers will address issues including Academic Standards and Assessment; APSCN; Child Nutrition; Guidance Services-School Counselors; Homeless Providers; Language Minority Student Programs; Migrant Education; School Health/Nursing; Special Education; Student Transportation; and Title Programs.
The attendees of the forum will receive a participant booklet with the No Child Left Behind preliminary guidance, documents, and resources providing knowledge and accurate information to ensure the children and youth experiencing homelessness receive services through a seamless and integrated system.
