This is a reminder that the food yields from the revised edition (November 2001) of the Food Buying Guide for Child Nutrition Programs (PA-1331) must be implemented for the 2003-04 School Year. USDA is in the process of revising the current yield/crediting information for A Tool Kit for Healthy School Meals: Recipes and Training Material (EX 27-97) and Quantity Recipes for School Food Service (FNS-1371). Districts may use the current yield information for all USDA recipes until notified of changes. The yield/crediting information for all other recipes must be recalculated using the revised Food Buying Guide.
USDA has identified several corrections that should be made in the revised edition of the Food Buying Guide for Child Nutrition Programs. These corrections are attached. All changes are highlighted for easy identification. Keep checking the following website for any additional changes:
