The Volunteer Assistance Program is a cooperative agreement with the Arkansas School Bus Mechanics Association. Members of the Association agree to offer available services to assist school districts that experience mechanical problems that occur on activity trips within driving distance of the mechanics’ home school.
The participants in this program should be commended for dedication and willingness to assist school districts experiencing mechanical breakdowns. This assistance may include a fee for parts and/or labor.
The attached list of mechanics includes school districts in Arkansas, Texas and Louisiana. This list should be posted in each activity trip bus. The names and phone numbers are for emergency school use only. Please instruct all drivers on the proper use of this program.
