The Arkansas Department of Education will begin working with a committee to supplement the Physical Education and Health Frameworks. The committee will consist of health teachers from schools throughout the state and appropriate dental health professionals, organizations and departments as necessary to achieve the purpose of the legislation. The committee will add to the existing framework to inform, train, and educate students concerning the importance of achieving and maintaining good oral health. The objectives will be grade specific.
Implementation will be no later than the fall semester of 2005 for early elementary grades. Full implementation at the high school will occur no later than fall semester of 2011.
