Act 604 of 2003 made several changes regarding terminology, testing personnel, and scoring to General Education Diploma (GED) requirements. The changes may be found in Sections 1, 2, and 3 of Act 604.

Section 1
-The term PRACTICE TEST replaced the term pretest.
-TESTS MAY NOW BE ADMINISTERED BY A PUBLIC SCHOOL
DESIGNATED OFFICIAL. Previously only the school
counselor was allowed to administer the test.
-THE SCORE OF 8.5 AT GRADE LEVEL AND A MINIMUM SCORE
OF 450 ON EACH SECTION OF THE TEST AND A COMPOSITE
SCORE OF 490 were clarified.

Section 2
-The above changes in score clarification were added
to Section 2.

Section 3.(4)
The following statement was added:
-A STUDENT ENROLLED IN A PRIVATE, PAROCHIAL OR HOME
SCHOOL MUST ACHIEVE AT LEAST THE MINIMUM OFFICIAL
GENERAL EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT PRACTICE TEST SCORES.
