At the December 9-10, 2002, Special Education Administrators’ Fall meeting, the Arkansas Department of Education, Special Education Unit, initiated the 2002-2003 annual Special Education Program Effectiveness Evaluation Plan (PEEP) system and provided training to local special education supervisors on its use. June 15, 2003, was the deadline established for school districts to submit 2002-2003 PEEP data, with the exception of the current year student assessment data, which were not available.
To ensure that all school districts have submitted the PEEP data to the ADE for the 2002-2003 school year, the web based program will be re-opened from October 15, 2003, through November 15, 2003, for districts to enter data and/or review and correct any inaccurate data entries. Since student assessment data are collected through APSCN, these data do not need to be entered in the PEEP. All other PEEP information is to be entered by close of business on November 15, 2003. The PEEP data to be entered are those data that were generated and collected for the 2002-2003 school year.
To access the PEEP data for a district, go to the Arkansas Department of Education, Special Education web page, http://arksped.k12.ar.us; click on Monitoring and Program Effectiveness. The PEEP data are located under the ‘Miscellaneous’ section. Use the login code that was recently submitted for the applicable district to the Grants/Data Management Section to access the system. Please read carefully the directions printed on the web page for an explanation of the data submission process.
