Due to the number of requests from speech-language pathologists who were unaware of or unable to attend this training in the Fall of 2002, six (6) presentations of the workshop entitled “The ABCs of Stuttering” will be conducted during January and February 2004. As in the previous sessions, the content of this workshop will include 1) a brief review of fluency assessment principles, 2) suggestions for therapy planning, and 3) discussion of the components necessary for a balanced stuttering intervention program. This workshop will be presented regionally as a videoconference via the state’s educational cooperatives’ distance learning labs, therefore seating may be limited at some of the smaller labs. For Pulaski County, there will be one live presentation at the Easter Seals Outpatient Services Building, as well as, limited seating (10) for each of the last three dates listed (attached) at the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) Distance Learning Unit at 501 Millwood Circle in Maumelle, the lab from which the videoconference sessions will be presented. There is no registration fee for this workshop; however, participants should download the session handouts from the ACC website:

in advance of attendance. Three and a half Continuing Professional Education hours (3.5 CPEs) will be offered and certificates of attendance will be available for participants.
The workshop dates, locations, and registration information are attached.
