Beginning in January 2004, the Arkansas Department of Education’s (ADE) Distance Learning Center (DLC) will offer the first semester of selected courses including Algebra I. This is an opportunity for students who failed the fall semester of Algebra I to take it again through the DLC and perhaps graduate with classmates. Attached are the course request form and the list of spring 2004 course offerings. The forms and information for spring 2004 course offerings, and facilitator training are shown on the ADE Distance Learning Center’s Website at http://dlc.k12.ar.us/mlar/dlcinfo.htm.
Facilitator training is scheduled for January 6, 2004. This training is mandatory for new facilitators for the spring and facilitators that the ADE Distance Learning Center has requested return for additional training. The training is optional for all current facilitators. Although schools may not know at this time exactly how many students will need to enroll in the spring classes, each school is encouraged to fill out the forms with best estimate if the school is planning to take advantage of the opportunity to receive spring distance learning courses.
REGISTRATION CLOSING DATE IS 4:00 P.M. DECEMBER 16, 2003.
