April 2, 2004, will be the date to administer the norm-referenced assessments in grades 5 and 9. This year, students will be assessed in reading comprehension and math problem solving only. This one-day testing format has been selected at the request of our bid selection committee.
Note that the Norm-Referenced Tests (NRT) must be given statewide on April 2, 2004. There is NOT a testing window for 2004. Total testing time for the NRT will not exceed 2 hours.
Make-up testing for the NRT must be completed by April 7, 2004. This is the same deadline used for make-up testing of the Benchmark and End of Course Literacy Exams. Districts will return NRT documents in the same shipment as the Benchmark documents.
Specifics about the above examinations will be addressed in future communications and in test coordinator trainings.
