The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) is soliciting Best Practices for Conflict Resolution for Middle Schools and High Schools. Submit a description of a best practice for resolving student conflict that has been utilized that would make a good model for other middle and/or high schools to follow. The practice may target different types of conflict, i.e. diversity, social, or behavioral conflicts.
If enough responses are received by March 4, 2004, this information will be developed into a state handbook of Best Practices for Conflict Resolution in Middle and High Schools and distributed to all middle and high schools in the fall.
At the end of February 2004, the State Character Education Grant Manager, Brazier Watts, will advertise a mini-grant on the Arkansas Department of Education’s Website at http://arkedu.state.ar.us under Director’s Memos. Middle and High Schools will have the opportunity to apply for funds to implement, improve or expand a school-wide plan for conflict resolution.
