Act 1216 of 2003 required the addition of oral health frameworks to the existing Physical Education and Health Education framework. The Arkansas Department of Education met with a committee of health educators, who worked on the Health and Physical Education Framework revision committee, along with dental health professionals and oral health organizations. This committee added specific student learning expectations regarding oral health to the existing framework. The revised Physical Education and Health Education framework should replace any previous document used in Arkansas classrooms.
