Guidance for Determining Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for Alternative Learning Environment (ALE) Schools
This guidance clarifies how students assigned to ALE programs will be accounted for in determining AYP.
A district or districts that have formed a consortium to provide ALE services may select either of the following:
1. Assign the ALE student’s score to the sending (home) school or
2. Assign the ALE student’s score to the ALE school.
If a student’s score will be assigned to the sending (home) school, that answer document shall be included in the sending (home) school’s testing materials that are returned to the testing company.
