The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) is required, under 34 CFR 300.712(b)(3)(i), to take into account the annual enrollment of private elementary and secondary students when allocating a portion of federal special education funding to each school district.
In an attempt to minimize paperwork associated with this annual requirement, the ADE recently sent a private school survey to each school district that recorded private students last year. However, there might be private schools that are either new this year or were not reported last year. Districts should refer to the attached private school listing representing schools for which data were collected in 2002-2003.
If there is a private school not shown on this list, the superintendent of the school district should complete the attached survey form and fax it to (501) 682-4313.
Survey results are due on April 30, 2004
