A three and one-half hour video conference workshop on Special Education Finance and Budgeting for FY 2004-05 will be conducted in repeated sessions on May 10 and 11, 2004. The workshop content will be offered each day from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. and from 12:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. The educational service cooperatives that have confirmed as sites of the video workshop for each session are listed on the attachment.
The training will cover all aspects of special education finance and budgeting, including federal rules, reporting requirements, and definitions. Training will also cover state appropriated special education accounts such as the new catastrophic occurrence fund, residential reimbursement, and extended school year. The targeted audience is superintendents, co-op directors, business officers, federal programs coordinators, LEA supervisors, early childhood coordinators, and any other school personnel with an interest in special education finance and budgeting.
Materials needed for the workshop may be downloaded beginning May 5, 2004, from the Grants and Data Management link on the Special Education website, http://arksped.k12.ar.us. Pre-registration is required of all workshop participants. The deadline for registration is May 5, 2004.
