The Arkansas Department of Education’s (ADE) Distance Learning Center (DLC) will offer the courses listed in the attachment shown below for the 2004-2005 school year. A schedule request form, the bell schedule, the school calendar, and a facilitator training form are also attached. Schools may not know how many students will enroll in the fall classes at this time; however, schools are urged to estimate as closely as possible the number of students scheduled to take the courses. Facilitator training is scheduled for August 11 and 12, 2004. ANY SCHOOL THAT DOES NOT SEND THE PERSON(S) WHO WILL ACTUALLY FACILITATE THE DISTANCE LEARNING CLASS TO A TRAINING SESSION WILL NOT RECEIVE INSTRUCTION FROM THE DLC. Forms and information about school year 2004-2005 can also be found on the ADE Distance Learning Center’s Web site at http://dlc.k12.ar.us/mlar/dlcinfo.htm.
Courses will be offered using Compressed Video and Enhanced Audiographic technology. Scheduling will be done on a first-come, first-served basis. SCHOOLS MUST ADHERE TO THE ADE DLC BELL SCHEDULE AND 2004-2005 ACADEMIC CALENDAR. The deadline for submitting the Schedule Request form is May 31, 2004. The earlier a school returns the Schedule Request form, the greater the likelihood of receiving the requested time-period(s).
