Due to a high level of interest regarding the May 27, 2004 training at Arkansas Special Education Resource Center (ASERC), the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE), Special Education Unit is offering another training coordinated with Medicaid and Arkansas Foundation for Medicaid Care (AFMC). The workshop will take place at ASERC from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon on May 28, 2004.
The workshop will include but is not limited to the following topics:
1. Important information about submitting charts for review;
2. Medicaid requirements for the DMS-640 and correction procedures;
3. Documentation requirements by Medicaid for evaluations, progress notes, and commonly used tests;
4. Errors that lead to denial of therapy services; and
5. How to request reconsideration.
A representative from Medicaid Managed Care Services (MMCS) will be present to answer questions from school nurses .
Attendance at the workshop is highly recommended considering changes in Medicaid policy, an overall statewide decrease in Medicaid claims for Arkansas’ school districts, and recent notification of recoupments for districts not meeting Medicaid requirements. The workshop is limited to a certain number of seats, so register as soon as possible.
