Arkansas Board of Education Special Education rules, Section 18, provide a mechanism to reimburse school districts for the costs of educating disabled and nondisabled students in residential placements. Reimbursement is available when educational services are delivered in facilities with programs approved by the Arkansas Department of Education, Special Education.
During Fiscal Year 2004-05, reimbursement requests will be filed on-line through the Grants and Data Management link on the Special Education website at http://arksped.k12.ar.us. Complete instructions, including quarterly deadlines, will be available on the website by August 2, 2004. The Fiscal Year 2004-05 reimbursement rate for eligible in-state placements will be $50.00 per day.
Arkansas Board of Education Special Education rules, Section 18, also provide for payment to school districts for the costs of educating disabled and nondisabled students in Juvenile Detention Facilities which have approved education programs. Information on this program, including required data collection and budget calculations for each facility, will be available August 2, 2004 on the Grants and Data Management link at http://arksped.k12.ar.us.
