2004 Federal Applications:

Application for Fiscal Year 2004-05 federal funds, available though Title I, Title II, Title III, Title IV, Title V, and Title VI (No Child Left Behind), will be made in school plans and budgets transmitted to the Arkansas Department of Education’s FTP server (ftp://165.29.214.17/). The deadline for federal applications is September 15, 2004.

Academic Improvement Plans:

The Arkansas Department of Education, Rules Governing the Arkansas Comprehensive Testing, Assessment and Accountability Program and the Academic Distress Program (June 14, 2004) indicate that Academic Improvement Plans “shall be prepared using the format designed by the Department of Education. However, the local school may adjust the format as deemed necessary (7.04.1)."

A sample Academic Improvement Plan (AIP) format for use or adaptation by school personnel is attached to this memorandum. In addition, the National Office for Rural Measurement and Evaluation Systems (NORMES) will have this form available August 8, 2004, on its website
(http://normes.uark.edu/).
