The upcoming school year will be a testing year for the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) which will affect many Arkansas schools. In early 2005, NAEP will assess students from grades 4, 8, and 12 in mathematics, reading, and science. As a result of Act 1467 of 2003 and Act 35 of the Second Extraordinary Session of the 84th Arkansas General Assembly, all schools selected for NAEP are required to participate. Districts and schools selected for the assessment will be contacted in early fall. Attached is additional information about NAEP.
