Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) Special Education Procedural Requirements and Program Standards, Section 19.00, include criteria and guidelines for the provision and payment of Extended School Year (ESY) services to students with disabilities. Attached are application forms to be completed for students identified as being eligible for and receiving ESY services.
ESY, Part Two, covers the period of time from July 1, 2004 through August 27, 2004. The reimbursement for the period covering ESY, Part Two will be $30 per student per day.
Applications for Part Two are due in the Special Education Office by September 17, 2004. Also, school districts that participated in ESY Part One and received reimbursement are required to submit the attached verification of student activity by September 17, 2004. The ADE must recoup ESY Part One funds if student activity was less than anticipated or an audit of ESY eligibility determines that one or more students served were ineligible for receipt of ESY services.
